Wanna learn how to make things like cameras, electronics, and cyberdecks from spare parts? Or maybe you just need to brush up on some techniques.
Classes are taught in small groups of 6-8 for tailored learning. You can also request a 1-1 session or arrange an offsite workshop for parties or team building.
Come pop the hood with a Makephilia workshop. You’ll feel a better sense of autonomy and less of a disconnect from the objects that surround you.

Makephilia is operated by Olivia Barr (she/her) out of her apartment in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. She has taught soldering at NYC Resistor for the over 5 years.

Olivia is an object maker who is known for NOT-A-CAMERA, a wearable camera that looks like a drawing of a camera. She learned how to solder by making a ton of cameras.

Handmade spy camera made by hacking a dashcamera and flattening the components and PCB so that it looks like a flat etching of an SLR camera and was made by Olivia Barr
Please note that Makephilia Workshops are held on the 4th floor on a walk up apartment building with no elevator.
